How to join new color in crochet

 Joining new color seems to be quite easy but when you want your crochet work to look neat it can be pretty difficult to find out where exactly join new yarn?
Here is a photo-toturial I've made today while creating new design and shows how I'm joining new color :

  1. Make your last st before joining only in half. Do not pull yarn through last 2(3 or 4) loops - leave ALL remaining loops on your hook.

2. Leave your previous color aside and wave new color around finger.

 3. Pull new color through all loops you have got on your hook.

 4. Ch 1 (or ch 2, ch 3 and more if you like) and start crocheting same manner you did before joining. Now this kind of joining looks pretty much neater.

4. In my design new color forms a ruffle but it could be a row made out of sc, hdc, dc and any other depending of your imagination.
